Requirements
18+ years of experience in transport, fleet, or logistics operations at large scale — measured in annual spend managed, contracts held, and people moved daily, not in vehicle count.Strong background on the commercial side: designing and managing large outsourced transport or logistics contracts, running supplier performance regimes, and controlling costs in a high-volume operation. Description
A major Egyptian group whose transport operation moves thousands of employees daily, through a multi-supplier contract base representing one of its largest annual spendsThis is a commercial and contracts role, not a maintenance role. The Fleet Department Manager runs the organisation's transport economy — the spend, the contracts, the suppliers, and the controls — with the owned fleet as one part of a much larger operation.Lead the Fleet Department, responsible for all staff and internal transport across the organisation: head office, residential points, and many operating locations.Define and forecast the organisation's transport needs and plan the daily movement of thousands of employees.Design and negotiate transport supplier contracts and rate structures so the organisation pays for service delivered, not for idle vehicles. Reduce cost through contract design and vehicle utilisation.Consolidate the supplier base toward fewer, stronger transport partners, and run a supplier performance and deduction regime with clear service levels and real consequences when service fails.Build and run the controls behind the transport spend: contracts and purchase orders behind every payment, an approved route and service register, invoice checking and reconciliation before payment, and regular reporting to leadership on cost per route and vehicle utilisation.Govern the owned fleet: vehicle provision and replacement, driver management, fuel control, maintenance standards and cost, and all traffic authority and regulatory matters.Lead the department team, including transport coordination at the sites.
