Head of Safety Experience in Railway industry from 11 to 16 Years The role:The Head of Safety provides strategic and technical leadership for all aspects of occupational safety, process safety, and railway safety across complex operations. The role ensures that people, equipment, and assets are protected through advanced engineering controls, technology-driven risk management, and rigorous compliance with global standards, including responsibilities for environmental discipline.Your responsibilities: (maximum 10 points)Responsible for all safety of the company, ensuring compliance with global occupational health and safety, railway safety, and emergency guidelines.Lead the Railway Assurance process and Railway Safety Team.Develop accident-prevention systems and programs for incorporation into the operational policies of the organization.Develop, implement, coordinate, maintain, and monitor enterprise-wide safety and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines for the protection of employees, information, assets, and the reputation of the organization.Schedule and oversee the company's safety committee.Manage and be a member of the Emergency Response Team.Establish organization-wide standards and best practices, including developing policies, procedures, and workflows for safety, environmental, and quality topics.Work closely with operations to identify occupational safety and environmental risks and develop and implement control methodologies for these risks.Ensure regulatory reports are completed accurately, reviewed thoroughly, and submitted on time.Investigate accidents and injuries, recommend or coordinate corrective actions, and continuously identify, assess, and reduce or eliminate Health & Safety risks.Your profile/ qualifications: (maximum 10 points)Bachelor's degree or MBA in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.Minimum 10–15 years of experience in safety-related industries, including Health & Safety, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.Proven knowledge of compliance requirements, including a general working knowledge of relevant laws and the law enforcement community.Relevant certification in Health & Safety and ISO standards is preferred; ISO 45001 auditor course or similar certification is an advantage.EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129 training is beneficial.Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic, with excellent communication skills; additional languages are preferred.Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced multinational environment is an advantage.Advanced and independent user of MS Office applications, mainly Excel, and proficient in Teams, Outlook, Word, and relevant IT systems.Strong time management, organizational, presentation, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced start-up environment, collaborate across intercultural teams, and take on a management position.
