Requirements
Must possess Journeyperson Trade Certification. Must pass site-specific drug and alcohol test. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs, and possess sufficient strength and stamina for technical duties. Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks for 12-hour shifts in varying conditions. Basic Survival Training (BST), HUET, HUEBA, H2S Alive, WHMIS 2015, Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, and Emergency First Aid are considered assets.

Wood is recruiting a Journeyperson Insulator - Offshore Adhoc (Casual /Temporary) to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, working on an as needed, call-out basis.

 

The Role

Location: Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador

Site / Office based: Hibernia 

Hours of work: 12 hours per day

Rotation / work pattern: Call out, as needed

Required: Site-specific medical, drug and alcohol testing

Unionized position: Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement

 

Within this role, by using power tools and hand tools, candidates will be expected to apply, remove, and repair, thermal and acoustic insulation such as glass foam, mineral wool, and Aerogel, on all types of industrial equipment (e.g. ducting, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels). They will also plan and execute Insulation activities in accordance with drawings and specifications. While working in confined spaces and/or at heights, in outdoor and extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
