Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a relevant field.Minimum 8 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.Previous purchasing experience in medical devices, medical supplies, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing is highly preferred.Strong experience in local and international purchasing.Good knowledge of supplier sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracts, purchase orders, and procurement procedures.Experience in purchasing raw materials, packaging materials, spare parts, machinery, and industrial supplies.Good understanding of import procedures, shipping documents, customs requirements, Incoterms, and international payment methods.Strong negotiation, analytical, planning, and cost-management skills.Excellent communication, leadership, and team-management skills.Good command of written and spoken English.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.Experience with ERP or purchasing-management systems is preferred.Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet purchasing deadlines.
Description
Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, procedures, and annual procurement plans aligned with the company’s operational requirements.Manage local and international purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging materials, spare parts, machinery, laboratory supplies, and general operational requirements.Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to identify purchasing needs and priorities.Review purchase requests and ensure compliance with approved specifications, budgets, and authorization procedures.Source, evaluate, qualify, and develop reliable local and international suppliers.Request and analyze quotations and prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets.Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, contracts, and other commercial conditions to achieve the best value for the company.Issue and follow up purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.Maintain an approved supplier database and support supplier evaluation and re-evaluation activities.Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control regarding supplier qualification, material specifications, rejected materials, and supplier-related quality issues.Coordinate with the Warehouse and Planning Departments to maintain appropriate inventory levels and avoid material shortages or excess stock.Follow up imported shipments and coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, banks, customs, and relevant internal departments.Monitor purchasing costs, market trends, price fluctuations, lead times, and supply-chain risks.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or operational requirements.Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, internal controls, applicable regulations, and approved authority levels.Prepare periodic purchasing reports, cost analyses, supplier-performance reports, and departmental KPIs.Lead, coach, train, and evaluate the Purchasing team.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement efficiency, supplier development, cost reduction, and supply continuity.
