Lead, direct, and mentor the Technical Office MEP teamManage the submittal schedule for shop drawings, material approvals, Method Statements, and RFIs (Requests for Information) to maintain construction timelines.Review, optimize, and approve coordinated MEP Shop Drawings, Composite Services Drawings (CSD), and Structural Electrical/Mechanical (SEM) builder's work drawings.Oversee 3D BIM coordination models (Navisworks/Revit) to resolve cross-disciplinary clashes between MEP services, civil/structural elements, and railway equipment.Ensure MEP designs comply with project specifications, employer's requirements, local authority regulations, and international railway standards (e.g., NFPA 130).Manage technical interfaces between station/depot MEP systems and specialized railway subsystems (Traction Power Substations [TPSS], Catenary/OLE, Trackwork, Signaling, Telecom, Depot Equipment, and SCADA).Ensure proper design provisions for cable containment, grounding/earthing, stray current mitigation, and EMI/EMC compliance across the tram alignment and facilities.Direct the technical design of specialized railway MEP systems, including Tunnel/Depot Ventilation, Traction Substation Cooling, Fire Detection/Suppression, and Emergency Evacuation Systems.Evaluate variations, claims, and scope changes; prepare comprehensive technical justification reports for client or consultant submissions.Verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs against issued designs and approved shop drawings.Conduct Value Engineering (VE) studies to propose cost-effective technical alternatives without compromising railway safety, quality, or performance standards.Act as the main technical point of contact with client representatives, consultants, local utility providers, and railway safety authorities.Secure necessary technical approvals, permits, and clearances from municipal authorities and utility companies.Provide continuous technical support to site construction teams, resolving non-conformance reports (NCRs) and technical queries promptly.
