We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced and inspiring Deputy Nursery Manager.
About the role
The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day management, smooth operation and overall performance of the nursery.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to the nursery team, support high standards of teaching and learning, maintain strong relationships with parents and ensure that the nursery operates in line with KFG policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager in the effective day-to-day management and operation of the nursery.
Act as a senior member of the nursery team and provide leadership, guidance and support to staff.
Support the implementation of KFG policies, procedures and operational standards.
Ensure high standards of care, education, safeguarding, health and safety are consistently maintained.
Support the delivery of a high-quality early years curriculum and promote best practice across the nursery.
Monitor classroom practice and provide constructive feedback and support to educators.
Assist with staff supervision, performance management, coaching and professional development.
Support staff planning, deployment and daily operational requirements to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Build positive and professional relationships with parents and respond effectively to queries or concerns.
Support the Nursery Manager with parent meetings, tours, events and other nursery activities.
Assist with the management of admissions, enrolment and overall occupancy targets where required.
Work collaboratively with administrative and support teams to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
Support the Nursery Manager with reports, audits, inspections and compliance requirements.
Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, health and safety and safeguarding.
Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate action plans.
Step into the Nursery Manager's responsibilities when required and ensure continuity of nursery operations.
Promote a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture within the nursery.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Business Management or a relevant field is preferred.
Recognised Early Years qualification such as CACHE Level 5 or equivalent.
Strong understanding of the British EYFS framework and early years best practice.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in an early years setting.
Previous experience in a Deputy Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, Room Leader, Senior Educator or similar leadership role is preferred.
Proven experience supporting and leading early years teams.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, health and safety and nursery operations.
Experience working with parents, staff and other stakeholders at different levels.
Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
