This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies,supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.A Labor & Delivery Manager oversees the daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns while managing staff, resources, and compliance with healthcare standards.ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee all clinical and operational activities within the Labor & Delivery unit.Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care for mothers and newborns.Supervise, support, and guide nursing and support staff during routine and high-risk deliveries.Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient patient care.Monitor patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges within the department.Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anaesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service excellence.Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.Conduct staff orientation, competency assessments, and ongoing education programs.Manage department budgets, staffing resources, equipment, and medical supplies.Investigate incidents, patient complaints, and adverse events, implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and risk management protocols.Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting standards.Facilitate emergency preparedness and response for obstetric and neonatal emergencies.Promote patient and family-centered care by ensuring a positive childbirth experience.Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and departmental goal setting.Analyze department performance metrics and implement action plans for continuous improvement.Support employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives.Serve as a clinical resource and leader for complex patient care situations.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Midwifery (Master's preferred).Valid DOH/DHA/MOHAP license as a Midwife.Minimum 5-7 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.At least 3-5 years of experience in leadership role (Charge Midwife).
