Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess an Electronics & Communications or Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree with knowledge in Computer Networks and Software Skills. Fluency in English is essential. Desirable qualifications include Instrumentation & Electronics knowledge and PLC & Control expertise. Experience in maintaining and servicing NOV MDT Equipment, interpreting engineering drawings/schematics, and fault finding on customer systems is required.
Description

As Service Engineer within NOV’s Digital Services (MDTotco) Team you will be responsible for the repair and inspection of NOV equipment globally both offshore and onshore. As part of our aftermarket service group you will make recommendations to customers which ensures equipment continuously operates at efficient and profitable levels. As service engineer you will react to equipment down situations as top priority and support servicing and repair projects on products ranging from RigSense Systems, E-Wildcat Systems, Softspeed, Block Control
Systems.  A strong foundation to your success in this role will be your ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics and the ability to interrogate, make minor changes to and fault find on customer systems. You will utilize your existing experience of maintenance and servicing of RigSense Systems, E-Wildcat Systems, Softspeed, Block Control Systems in varying environments.
 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service, repair, overhaul, inspect and identify faults on NOV MDT Equipment on a global basis
  • Support I&C projects as required
  • Make recommendations on improving product and systems efficiency, maintaining continuous and high levels of operation
  • Report and update relevant documentation including daily reports, survey reports, parts lists and service reports
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to identify and correct faults, redline drawings/schematics
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Customers, Colleagues and other NOV entities
  • Escalate key faults or product failures to relevant department and progress through to resolution
  • Maintain effective communication with customers giving regular status update reports
  • Promote HSE plans and support the continuous developing of internal policy
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and customers
  • Inspects NOV equipment for conformance with operational standards
  • Respond to emergency calls for equipment down situations when required
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, quality and HSE personnel to resolve problems with NOV equipment and recommend measures to improve the operation and condition of the equipment
  • Where necessary, liaise closely with other operational teams to ensure continuous improvement of all systems and processes.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect our industry
  • Advise customers on the maintenance and upkeep of their NOV equipment as per the various manuals, Product Information Bulletins (PIB) drawing revision changes, software updates etc.
  • Carry out fault finding, repair and recommendations in a timely manner without compromising safety or quality
  • Workshop management on a general level
  • maintain inventory and incoming products/ shipments/ transactions
  • 24/7 on-call support with customers for troubleshooting
