The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care for infants, children, and adolescents with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. The physician will deliver evidence-based, family-centered care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations. Key responsibilities Diagnose, evaluate, and manage pediatric patients with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. Treat conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, chronic abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, food allergies, liver disorders, pancreatitis, malabsorption syndromes, and feeding difficulties. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric endoscopic procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, and biopsy, as credentialed. Manage children with growth failure, nutritional deficiencies, obesity, and complex feeding disorders. Evaluate and treat acute and chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, metabolic liver disorders, cholestatic liver disease, and fatty liver disease. Provide inpatient consultations, outpatient clinics, and emergency pediatric gastroenterology services as required. Collaborate closely with pediatric surgery, pediatric nutrition, neonatology, pediatric intensive care, radiology, pathology, allergy & immunology, and other multidisciplinary teams. Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, nutrition, and long-term disease management. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and continuing medical education (CME). Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals. Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical governance standards. Requirements Qualifications & requirements MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. Completion of an accredited residency in pediatrics. Fellowship or board certification in pediatric gastroenterology from a recognized international board (American Board, Canadian Board, CCT, FRCPCH, Arab Board, Australian Board, or equivalent). Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience for specialist level or 5–10 years for consultant level, depending on DHA eligibility. Eligibility for or possession of a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) specialist or consultant license. Candidates eligible for licensing are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy and the management of complex pediatric gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care. Preferred candidate profile PQR Tier 1 and Tier 2 qualified professionals will be given preference. Experience working in internationally accredited hospitals is highly desirable. Candidates with clinical experience in DHA (Dubai), DOH (Abu Dhabi), or MOHAP (Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain) licensed healthcare facilities are highly preferred. GCC experience is an added advantage. Fellowship training or additional expertise in advanced pediatric endoscopy, pediatric hepatology, pediatric nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), intestinal failure, or pediatric liver transplantation is an added advantage. Experience in tertiary pediatric hospitals or specialized pediatric gastroenterology centers is preferred. Active participation in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and medical education is highly desirable.
