The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and long-term management for infants, children, and adolescents with endocrine and metabolic disorders. The consultant will work collaboratively with pediatricians, diabetes educators, dietitians, geneticists, surgeons, radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities Diagnose, evaluate, and manage a wide range of pediatric endocrine and metabolic disorders. Assess and treat children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, including insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) management. Manage disorders of growth and puberty, including short stature, growth hormone deficiency, precocious puberty, delayed puberty, and tall stature. Diagnose and treat thyroid disorders, including congenital hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and autoimmune thyroid disease. Evaluate and manage adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, calcium and bone metabolism disorders, and disorders of sexual development (DSD). Diagnose and manage obesity, metabolic syndrome, lipid disorders, and other endocrine-related metabolic conditions. Interpret endocrine laboratory investigations, hormonal testing, genetic investigations, and diagnostic imaging. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide long-term follow-up care. Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, medication management, and disease prevention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric teams to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and international standards. Supervise junior physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare professionals. Participate in clinical research, teaching, and continuing medical education (CME) activities. Qualifications & requirements MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the relevant UAE health authority. Completion of an accredited residency in pediatrics. Fellowship or subspecialty training in pediatric endocrinology. Board certification or equivalent specialist qualification recognized under the UAE professional qualification requirements (PQR). Eligibility for or possession of a DHA, DOH, or MOHAP consultant license. Experience Minimum 3–5 years of post-board/fellowship experience as a consultant pediatric endocrinologist (or as required by UAE licensing regulations). Extensive experience in managing pediatric diabetes and endocrine disorders. Experience with insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and multidisciplinary diabetes care is highly desirable. Experience working in internationally accredited tertiary children's hospitals is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary pediatric endocrine care.
