Job summary
We are seeking a highly qualified specialist/consultant pediatric respiratory to join a leading healthcare facility in Al Ain, UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic respiratory disorders, delivering evidence-based treatment in both outpatient and inpatient settings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric respiratory conditions, including asthma, recurrent respiratory infections, chronic cough, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, sleep-disordered breathing, and interstitial lung diseases.
Evaluate and manage children with acute and chronic respiratory illnesses in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and emergency consultations.
Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs), spirometry, and other respiratory diagnostic investigations.
Manage children requiring oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and respiratory support.
Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, allergists, ENT specialists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress through regular follow-up.
Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, medication use, inhaler techniques, and long-term disease management.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and infection prevention programs.
Supervise junior physicians, residents, and fellows (consultant level).
Participate in continuing medical education (CME), research, and departmental teaching activities.

Qualifications
Specialist MD/MS/DNB or equivalent qualification in pediatrics recognized by UAE authorities.
Fellowship/DM/CCT/Board certification in pediatric pulmonology or pediatric respiratory medicine.
Valid DOH license or DOH eligibility as a specialist pediatric respiratory physician (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in pediatric respiratory medicine.
Experience managing both acute and chronic pediatric respiratory disorders.
Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Consultant American Board / Canadian Board / UK CCT / Irish CSCST / Australian Fellowship / European Board or equivalent recognized consultant qualification in pediatric pulmonology or pediatric respiratory medicine.
Valid DOH license or DOH eligibility as consultant pediatric respiratory physician (preferred).
Minimum 5–8 years of post-board certification experience as a consultant.
Extensive experience in tertiary care hospitals managing complex pediatric respiratory conditions.
Proven leadership, teaching, and research experience is highly desirable.
