Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong international business development experience within the FMCG sector, preferably food or beverage, with hands-on experience managing European markets and distributor-led businesses. A strong understanding of international business operations, commercial and financial acumen, and proven experience managing distributors are essential. Fluent English is required, and additional European language skills are advantageous. Frequent travel across Europe is expected.

Food People is partnered with an established FMCG business and is looking for a Business Development Manager, Europe. This role will be responsible for growing the European business across existing and new markets, with a strong focus on distributor management, market expansion, and driving profitable commercial growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the commercial performance across European markets, ensuring volume, revenue and profitability objectives are achievedDevelop and execute annual business plans across existing and new marketsIdentify and evaluate new market opportunities, including feasibility, market entry and route to market planningManage and develop relationships with distributors, importers and key customers, ensuring strong commercial partnershipsLead commercial negotiations across pricing, distributor terms and annual business agreementsDrive brand availability, visibility and penetration across priority European marketsWork closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Trade Marketing and Finance to ensure effective commercial executionMonitor market performance, competitor activity and customer trends to identify new opportunities for growthKey IngredientsMust have strong international business development experience within the FMCG sector, ideally food or beverageMust have hands-on experience managing European markets and distributor-led businessesStrong understanding of international business operations, including import, export, logistics, and supply chainDemonstrated commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing volume, revenue, profitability and marginsProven experience managing distributors, ideally including appointing or replacing distributor partnersEntrepreneurial and hands-on mindset, with the ability to operate effectively within a lean team and independently manage marketsFluent English is essential; Arabic or additional European language skills would be advantageousMust be willing to travel frequently across Europe*Kindly apply only if you meet all of the above criteria, and please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
