Job description
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced consultant paediatric rehabilitation physician to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive rehabilitation care to infants, children, and adolescents with neurological, developmental, musculoskeletal, and functional conditions, working closely with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive physical, neurological, developmental, and functional assessments of pediatric patients.
Diagnose and manage children with developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal, and congenital conditions.
Develop individualized rehabilitation plans based on each child's clinical condition, functional needs, and rehabilitation goals.
Manage children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, developmental delay, neuromuscular disorders, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, and other physical disabilities.
Coordinate physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other rehabilitation services.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical response and developmental milestones.
Assess mobility, gait, muscle tone, strength, coordination, and functional independence.
Provide appropriate management for spasticity and other movement-related disorders within the scope of expertise.
Prescribe and coordinate the use of orthotics, prosthetics, mobility aids, and assistive technologies where required.
Provide family education regarding rehabilitation goals, home programs, long-term care, and functional development.
Work closely with pediatricians, neurologists, orthopedic specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate medical records, rehabilitation plans, progress notes, and clinical documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME).
Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and facility policies.
Requirements
MBBS / MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Specialist qualification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Pediatric Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Neurology, or Orthopedics with relevant pediatric rehabilitation experience.
Fellowship or additional training in paediatric rehabilitation is highly preferred.
Appropriate consultant-level qualification recognized by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
Valid or eligible DHA / DOH / MOHAP license.
Minimum 5 years of relevant post-specialization / consultant-level experience in pediatric rehabilitation.
Strong experience managing pediatric neurological, developmental, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Proven experience working within a multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation setting.
Excellent clinical, leadership, communication, and patient-management skills.
