The role focuses on accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, preventive healthcare, growth and developmental monitoring, and family-centred care. Key responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pediatric consultations and clinical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in children. Provide routine health assessments and monitor physical, developmental, and emotional well-being. Manage common pediatric conditions, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, asthma, and childhood infections. Assess and manage children presenting with acute complaints such as fever, cough, breathing difficulties, dehydration, and abdominal pain. Monitor growth, nutrition, and developmental milestones and identify concerns requiring further assessment. Provide age-appropriate vaccination and immunization services according to applicable clinical protocols. Assess nutritional status and provide appropriate dietary and health guidance to parents and caregivers. Manage children with chronic medical conditions and provide appropriate follow-up care. Review and interpret laboratory investigations, imaging, and other diagnostic results. Recognize pediatric emergencies and provide appropriate initial assessment and stabilization within the scope of practice. Refer patients to pediatric subspecialists or other specialists when required. Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, medication, nutrition, preventive care, and child development. Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records. Work collaboratively with pediatric subspecialists, nurses, dietitians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, patient safety, and continuing medical education activities. Requirements MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. Postgraduate qualification in paediatrics/pediatrics such as MD, DNB, MRCPCH, Arab Board, American Board, CCT, FRACP, FCPS, or an equivalent recognized qualification. Relevant post-specialization clinical experience. Strong clinical experience in managing infants, children, and adolescents. Good knowledge of preventive pediatrics, vaccinations, child growth and development, and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, child-friendly approach. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
