A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its pediatric surgical services and is seeking a highly skilled consultant pediatric surgeon to join its growing clinical team. Role overview
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary pediatric environment alongside pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric intensivists, radiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, supported by advanced operating theatres, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and modern diagnostic and surgical facilities.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage congenital and acquired surgical conditions affecting neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
Perform a wide range of pediatric general, neonatal, minimally invasive (laparoscopic), emergency, and elective surgical procedures within the approved scope of practice.
Collaborate with neonatology, pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, anesthesia, radiology, gastroenterology, urology, oncology, and other pediatric subspecialties to deliver coordinated multidisciplinary care.
Provide comprehensive counselling to parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, potential risks, postoperative care, and long-term outcomes.
Oversee postoperative recovery, manage surgical complications, coordinate nutritional support, and ensure appropriate long-term follow-up and developmental care.
Maintain compliance with patient safety standards, surgical protocols, informed consent requirements, clinical documentation, infection prevention measures, and international quality and clinical governance standards.
