About the job:
Responsible for the development of offshore contracts from researching the legal regulations to negotiating the terms and preparing the documents. Participates in the daily management of offshore contracts by providing contractual strategy advice to the Management Team with respect to change order, variations, and claims, in order to assist the management to ensure that the contract management activities are communicated, aligned, monitored, and measured.
Job specific accountabilities
Prepare request for expression of interest to the potential bidders, assist in evaluation of responses and prepare bidders lists.
Examine scope of work and other information provided by end users and/or consultants for completeness and consistency.
Prepare comprehensive invitation-to-tender (ITT) packages using standard forms and coordinate issuance to approved bidders.
Prepare all correspondence to bidders during the bidding period with necessary input from end user, where required.
Coordinate and attend technical and commercial bid openings.
Perform evaluation of unpriced commercial aspects of the technical bid and evaluation of commercial bid.
Maintain and update computerized or manual records (contract logs).
Establish procedures of transferring contracts to operations after demobilization of project team.
Handle contractor claims and breaches effectively and resolve issues on behalf of the company.
Prepare recommendations for award and notice of award.
Prepare the contract document(s) confirming agreed changes to the ITT package.
Provide contractual advice to end users and prepare contractual correspondence.
Proofread, edit, and verify legal documentation for accuracy and consistency.
Review and evaluate variations and claims, prepare recommendations for approval of management and prepare contract amendments, as required.
Review contract terms and conditions to ensure that they are in compliance with company policies and all applicable local regulations.
Monitor the progress of contract execution according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner.
Responsible for assisting clients to terminate contracts on favourable terms.
Ensure understanding, adherence and participation in relevant HSE requirements.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration and law or equivalent professional qualification.
At least 4 years of relevant contract experience in offshore marine related to the oil & gas industry.
In-depth knowledge in relevant oil & gas business planning, offshore contracts and core marine processes, in addition to relevant regulations with sound knowledge in oil & gas production operations.
