Requirements
The Contracts Senior Engineer will be responsible for reviewing tender documents, contracts, and commercial agreements, identifying contractual risks, and participating in tender reviews and contract negotiations. Key accountabilities include providing contractual advice, managing claims and variations, overseeing contract closeout activities, and preparing periodic reports on payments, amendments, claims, disputes, and contractual risks. The role also involves ensuring compliance with contract provisions, coordinating responses to contractual correspondence, and capturing lessons learned for process improvement.

Key AccountabilitiesContract Review & Risk Management- Review tender documents, contracts, and commercial agreements and identify contractual risks and opportunities.- Prepare contractual risk analyses and recommend mitigation measures.- Participate in tender reviews and support contract negotiations when required.- Prepare and review subcontract terms and conditions to ensure alignment with main contract obligations.Contract Administration- Provide contractual advice and recommendations to project management teams to support informed decision-making.- Review, analyze, coordinate, and respond to contractual correspondence with clients, subcontractors, partners, and consultants.- Ensure compliance with contract provisions and monitor contractual obligations throughout project execution.- Maintain contractual records and ensure proper documentation of all communications and agreements.Claims & Variations Management- Review, evaluate, and respond to contractual claims submitted by clients and subcontractors.- Identify claim events and initiate claims and counterclaims as applicable.- Prepare contractual notices, claim statements, and supporting documentation.- Support the preparation and substantiation of variation orders (VOs), extensions of time, and related contractual entitlements.- Maintain and regularly update claims and variation logs.Contract Closeout & Project Support- Manage subcontract and main contract closeout activities, ensuring timely issuance of:- Taking Over Acceptance Certificates (TOAC)- Final Acceptance Certificates (FAC)- Final settlements and contractual releases- Support contract mobilization and early-start activities, including:- Letter of Guarantees (LGs)- Insurance policies- Contractual submissions and deliverables- Coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with contractual requirements during all project phases.Reporting & Continuous Improvement- Prepare periodic reports on:- Payments and billings- Contract amendments- Claims and disputes- Variation orders- Contractual risks- Financial contractual status- Ensure all contract administration logs and reports are maintained and updated.- Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements to contract administration and contract formation processes.- Submit monthly progress reports on assigned activities.- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
