Description
Job Role :The Planning Engineer is responsible for production planning, scheduling, and coordination of manufacturing activities related to HVAC coil products (e.g., chilled water coils, condenser coils, and Evaporator coils). The role ensures optimal use of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment between sales, procurement, and production teams.Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Scheduling:Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecastsCreate detailed production schedules for coil manufacturing processes (fin pressing, tube expansion, brazing, testing, etc.)Ensure efficient machine loading and manpower utilizationAdjust plans based on priority orders, delays, or material shortages2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP):Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) for HVAC coilsCoordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (copper tubes, aluminum fins, headers, etc.)Monitor inventory levels and avoid overstocking or shortagesTrack lead times and update planning parameters accordingly3. Coordination & Communication:Liaise with sales team regarding order priorities and delivery commitmentsCoordinate with production supervisors to ensure adherence to schedulesWork closely with procurement, quality, and logistics teamsProvide regular updates on production status and delays4. Capacity Planning:Evaluate production capacity vs. demandIdentify bottlenecks in coil manufacturing processesRecommend solutions such as overtime, outsourcing, or process improvementsSupport expansion planning and equipment utilization analysis5. Monitoring & Reporting:Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:On-time delivery (OTD)Production efficiencyPlan vs. actual outputPrepare daily/weekly/monthly planning reportsAnalyze deviations and implement corrective actions6. Process Improvement:Identify inefficiencies in planning and production workflowsSupport lean manufacturing initiativesImprove scheduling accuracy and reduce lead timesParticipate in ERP/MRP system improvements7. Documentation & Systems:Maintain accurate planning data in ERP systemUpdate routings, work centers, and production parametersEnsure proper documentation of production plans and revisions
