Description
Serves as the technical authority for all piping design activities in EPC projects, accountable for technical decisions, quality, schedule, and cost control. Acts as the primary interface with project management and other engineering disciplines to ensure full compliance with SAES, SAMSS, and applicable regulations.Key Responsibilities1. Technical Leadership Lead and oversee all piping design activities (layout, materials, stress, supports). Review and approve key deliverables: P&IDs, Piping Class Sheets, GADs, Isometrics, Stress Reports. Resolve complex technical and coordination issues across disciplines. Ensure design quality, constructability, and cost optimization. 2. Standards & Compliance Ensure full adherence to (SAES, SAMSS) and international codes (ASME B31.3, API, ASTM). Integrate company procedures with client requirements. 3. Discipline Coordination Interface with Process, Equipment, Structural, Instrumentation, Electrical, and Civil teams. Provide piping loads, review nozzle orientations, and support 3D model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%). 4. Client & Vendor Management Lead technical meetings with clients and secure design approvals. Review and approve vendor documents for critical piping items (valves, fittings, supports). 5. Team & Quality Management Manage and mentor piping designers and stress engineers. Implement QA/QC procedures and mitigate technical risks. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petrochemical Engineering. Certification: P.E. or CEng (or equivalent qualification) preferred. Experience: 15+ years in piping design for oil & gas/petrochemical EPC; minimum 2 full-cycle projects as Lead. Software: Proficient in CAESAR II, SP3D/AVEVA E3D. Knowledge: Expert in SAES, SAMSS, ASME B31.3, API, ASTM standards. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making in multicultural environments. Language: Fluent English (spoken & written). Other: Fit for long-term overseas assignments; high integrity and professionalism.
