Description
The Services Engineer is responsible for conducting steam trap inspection and condition assessment programs across refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing facilities, LNG plants, offshore platforms, and utility systems. The role focuses on improving steam system reliability, reducing energy losses, optimizing condensate recovery, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with plant safety and integrity standards. The engineer performs field inspections using ultrasonic and thermal diagnostic equipment, identifies failed or inefficient steam traps, prepares technical reports, and provides recommendations to enhance steam system performance and reduce operational costs.Key Responsibilities:Steam Trap Survey & InspectionConduct steam trap surveys in live operating Oil & Gas facilities including Refineries, Petrochemical plants, LNG facilities, Gas processing plants, Utility & boiler systems Offshore and onshore facilitiesInspect steam traps using Ultrasonic testing equipment, Infrared temperature measurementVisual and operational assessment methodsIdentify steam trap failures including verify correct steam trap installation, sizing, orientation, and application suitability.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare detailed technical survey reports and steam trap audit documentation.Generate: Failure analysis reports, Steam loss calculations, Energy-saving estimations, Repair/replacement recommendationsUpdate steam trap management databases and asset registers.Provide client-ready reports aligned with plant maintenance and reliability requirements.Maintenance & Reliability SupportSupport plant reliability and integrity programs.Coordinate with Operations teams, Mechanical maintenance teams, Reliability engineers, Energy management departmentsAssist during shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance campaigns.Recommend suitable steam trap technologies for critical process applications.Procedures and Quality:Ensure completion of all technical documents according to company procedures. Report any incidents and accidents within your area of responsibility to the QHSE Regional Manager.Maintenance of Equipment / Facility:Support the VAC Supervisor and Machinists in the maintenance of all machinery and equipment used by the Valve Automation Division, along with assisting in facility maintenance and services related to the improvement of company facilities.
