Job specific accountabilities Projects planning and scheduling Provide input for preparation of the budgets for capital projects and assist in the implementation of the approved budget and work plans to deliver department objectives. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control. Prepare summary schedules for all new projects based on alternative execution strategies to facilitate management decision with regard to the most effective execution strategy. Develop project specific planning, progress measurement, progress reporting and other project control requirements and incorporate them into the respective tenders/agreements for various projects (FEED, PMC, EPC). Evaluate the technical bids received from consultants/contractors (PMC, FEED, EPC) to ascertain compliance with the specified requirements, assess adequacy of the resource requirements and prepare relevant portions of the technical evaluation report as well as finalize relevant portions of the agreement document subsequent to award. Make in-depth review and analysis of all submittals from Pre-FEED, FEED, PMC and EPC contractors/consultants during implementation stage relating to planning, scheduling, progress measurement, reporting, schedule risk analysis, productivity etc., taking into consideration the agreement requirements, project priorities, plant shutdown requirements etc. Verify and endorse monthly physical progress claimed by the consultants/contractors for payment purposes. Monitor the reported progress and schedule status, identify the areas of concern impacting the project completion schedule and advise the Sr. Project Managers on the proposed corrective actions. Job specific accountabilities (continued) Develop, maintain and update databank based on historical information and update projects dashboard regularly. Review resource deployment by contractors/consultants to determine their adequacy for meeting the completion schedules based on productivity rates and recommend enhancements where required. Evaluate variation requests/claims for extension of project schedules made by contractors and prepare appropriate recommendations to management for approval. Review periodically the schedule risk analysis along with the mitigation measures identified by the consultants/contractors and ensure timely implementation of all agreed mitigation measures. Coordinate with the project control managers of all project management consultants (PMCs) and FEED/EPC contractors to ensure adherence to the project control procedures and other requirements throughout the project duration to achieve successful project implementation. Minimum qualification Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent professional qualification. Minimum experience, knowledge & skills Eight or more years of experience in planning and scheduling for large projects within the oil and gas industry. Experience in coordinating and negotiating with contractors and consultants for execution of planning, scheduling, progress measurement and progress reporting requirements consistent with company objectives in the oil and gas industry. Extensive and diversified hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling principles, procedures/techniques and practices with strong understanding of work breakdown structure that covers all activities of planning and scheduling with logical sequence for successful project completion. Ability to foresee delays well in advance and attention to detail are pre-requisites for effectively managing the project schedules for major complex projects with international contractors. Experience of both pre-award and post-award phases of project implementation with multidisciplinary approach is essential for a potential candidate. Background in working for organizations in EPC for the oil and gas industry. Extensive knowledge and experience in usage of planning software during FEED/EPC phase.
