Requirements
Requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in Endocrinology since acquiring the essential postgraduate qualification. Must hold a Basic Medical Degree from a recognized accredited institution, Saudi Board/Fellowship Certification or equivalent in the specialty, and an SCFHS License in Endocrinology as a Senior Registrar. Essential skills include knowledge and practical skills in Diabetes & Endocrinology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Takes full responsibility for the appropriate admission, m onitoring and care of patients (that iscompassionate, appropriate & effective) attending his/her allocated Outpatient Clinics or presenting at the Emergency Room, adm itted under the speciality or referred for opinion and management.2. Assesses patient needs, performs the normal range of Diabetes & Endocrine Center diagnosticprocedures.3. Responsible for investigating, diagnosing and treating the health conditions of patients by usingscientific evidence to improve patient care practices.4. Responsible for prescribing and reviewing patients medication appropriately and timely.5. Under his or her clinical privileges, responsible for closely m onitor the medically necessary length of stay of patients.6. Writing clinical notes (including assessment and care plans) in patients medical records as per the hospital policy.7. Responsible for complying with appropriate blood or blood product use and antibiotic stewardship program as per hospital policy.8. Demonstrates interpersonal, communication skills that establish & maintain professional relationships with patients, families, co-workers & other members of healthcare team.9. Able to demonstrates both understanding of contexts and systems in which health care is provided and ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care.10. As per his or her clinical privileges, able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate and improve patient care practices.11. Demonstrates cost-conscious care including avoiding the overuse and misuse of diagnostic tests and treatment.12. Demonstrates com m itm ent to continuous professional development, ethical practice, understanding & sensitivity to diversity & responsible attitude towards other staffs and patients.13. As directed by the Head of Diabetes& Endocrine Center, manages any assigned Resident Staff/General Practitioners allocated to the department, participating in arranging rotas and periods of leave towards the protection of the required 24 hour cover.14. As requested by the Head of Diabetes & Endocrine Center Participates in the planning and budgeting cycle for the department.15. Contributes to the departmental program of continuing medical education.16. As directed by the Head of Diabetes & Endocrine Center attends appropriate meetings of the medical staff.17. Develops and co-ordinates the Quality Improvement Program within his/her area of responsibilities.18. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions.19.
