The role focuses on specialist urological assessment, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and ongoing management of patients with a wide range of urological conditions. The successful candidate will work within a modern, multidisciplinary clinical environment supported by experienced consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, advanced diagnostic facilities, and surgical infrastructure. Role overview The consultant urological surgeon will provide comprehensive specialist urological and surgical care, including assessment, diagnosis, operative management, post-operative care, and follow-up. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Key responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of urological conditions. Perform urological surgical procedures in accordance with established clinical standards and best practices. Manage conditions affecting the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, and male reproductive system. Perform endoscopic, minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and open urological procedures as clinically appropriate. Manage patients with kidney and urinary tract stones, urinary obstruction, prostate disorders, urinary infections, and bladder conditions. Assess and manage patients with urological cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. Provide specialist consultation for complex urological cases and determine appropriate surgical or non-surgical treatment plans. Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative management and follow-up care. Coordinate patient care with oncology, nephrology, radiology, pathology, emergency medicine, and other relevant specialties. Provide appropriate counselling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, surgical records, consent, and follow-up plans. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives. Support evidence-based clinical protocols and maintain compliance with UAE healthcare regulatory standards.
