Description
To lead a team fabricators, welders and helpers and ensures timely, quality and safe execution of piping and structures in accordance to piping classes and quality control requirements. To participate in the long and short term planning for major welding repair works which are related mainly to static equipment’s (Vessels, Boilers, Furnaces, Tanks, Coolers and Heat Exchangers) as part of the cross-functional team.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES2.1 Supervision of execution of piping installation and modification based on production requirements, construction codes and environmental restrictions.2.2 Working knowledge of piping, fitting, valves and common equipment’s to the specific type of process.2.3 Familiarization with welding process / techniques and welding defects.2.4 Cooperation / dealing with quality control team to do non-destructive test for welding joints.2.5 Working knowledge of codes and Standards ANSI, ASME, ASTM, AWS, API etc. relevant to fabrication and welding works in the context of pressure vessels, piping and structures.2.6 Working knowledge of various NDT examinations relevant to fabrication and welding of pressure piping, vessels and structures2.7 Maintenance and major repairing for Heat Exchangers, Coolers, Valves, Reactors.2.8 Participates in the shutdown jobs and preparing the time scheduling plan for the projects under execution.2.9 Provide technical advice and guidance on all related piping works.2.10 Supervision of the different stages of the projects being executed.2.11 Working knowledge of specific mechanical elements such as gears, bearing, springs and the like.2.12 Provides advice on modification and installation of mechanical, stationary and rotating equipment, prepares cost estimates for repair projects and manages such projects till satisfactory conclusion.2.13 Personally carries out complex jobs of piping fabrication and installation in the field of gas and petrochemical area.2.14 Supervises machinery work equipment parts and spares for turbines, compressors and other rotating and stationary equipment, using variety of machinery equipment including lathes; milling, boring drilling, lapping and a wide range of precision measuring instruments to achieve acceptable standards of workmanship.2.15 Supervises the special tools preparation/shaping and spare parts not available for machining operations includes allocating work, checking tolerance, accepting completed work from the Technician concerned and passing to the requesting Department.2.16 Inspects completed jobs for conformity to statutory and COMPANY standards and regulations.2.17 Raises store issue documents and assists in the receipt of materials and tools, helping to check the quality and quantity of supply.2.18 Maintains records of work performed and work in progress in the computerized system2.19 Arranges the transportation of material to site and interacts with Workshop on the use of heavy equipment and rigging services.2.20 Determines training needs for team members and trainees, and ensures adequate training on-the-job to them for skill development.2.21 Ensures observation of HSE regulations and guidelines by team under supervision and promotes the use of safe work practices.2.22 Participate in TRA meeting & provide inputs about fabrication Hazards.2.23 Conduct daily tool box talk to ensure safe working environment2.24 Ensure housekeeping of fabrication shop, machine shop, equipment and work premises and coordinate to the concern parties for waste disposal.2.25 Ensure readiness of workshop equipment tools & accessories.2.26 Maintain inventory of in-house hand tools & consumable.2.27 Ensure all the lifting tools are properly inspected and colour coded.2.28 Notifying spares/ consumables unavailability in time, so as to avoid job interruption.2.29 Preserves special attachments, Jig & Fixtures to be used for machining operations and keeping record against each parts/Components.2.30 Ensure readiness of Machine shop equipment, attachments, Jig & fixtures.2.31 Perform refurbishment of high pressure components like plunger, HP coup rings etc. Using LDPE shop equipment.2.32 Perform inspection of finished HP components with the help of Ra Meters.2.33 Ensure all measuring tools are duly calibrated by the 3rd Party2.34 Ensure traceability of spares & materials physically and electronically.2.35 Notifying spares/ consumables unavailability in time, so as to avoid job interruption.2.36 Follow and implement Company HSE , PTW, e-WMS and PPE rules as applicable2.37 Conducts field walkthrough audits to seek the compliance of guidelines as stated in the COMPANY Standard and procedures.2.38 Ensures and follow the implementation of the COMPANY HSE Standard’s.2.39 Perform as Permit Authority (PA).MINIMUM REQUIREMENT3.1 Technical Diploma (3 Years) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent3.2 NDT minimum Level I I in minimum 3 relevant disciplines is mandatory3.3 Good knowledge of production facilities in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry and of supervision for piping erection, welding Supervision skills.3.4 Minimum 8 years work experience.3.5 Capable to Interpret of Engineering & Fabrication drawing3.6 Excellent Communication Skills in English (Oral & Verbal)3.7 Capable of Understating Fabrication shop equipment various features & operations as per their OEM Manuals.3.8 Capable of understating Machine shop equipment various features & operations as per their OEM Manuals.3.9 Familiar to applicable codes & standards like ASME, ASTM, AWS etc.
