Description
The Logistics Foreman is responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day logistics activities on a construction site, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of materials, equipment, vehicles, and personnel. The role supports construction operations by maintaining effective site logistics, delivery coordination, storage, access, and material handling in accordance with project requirements and HSE procedures.Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily logistics activities in line with the project construction programme.Supervise the movement of materials, equipment, tools, and resources within the construction site.Coordinate site access, delivery routes, loading/unloading areas, and designated storage locations.Ensure construction areas remain accessible, organised, and free from unnecessary obstructions.Coordinate logistics requirements with Site Engineers, Supervisors, Storekeepers and Procurement.Coordinate and supervise for unloading, movement, and distribution of construction materials.Ensure materials are delivered to the correct location and made available to the relevant work teamsVerify delivery quantities and assist with checking materials against delivery documentation.Coordinate lifting and handling activities with authorised personnel and lifting teams.Ensure materials are stored safely and protected from damage, weather, or contamination.Coordinate the movement and scheduling of delivery vehicles, trucks and other site equipment.Control vehicle movements within designated site areas.Ensure vehicles follow approved access and traffic management arrangements.Coordinate with drivers and equipment operators regarding delivery schedules and site requirements.Report equipment or vehicle-related issues that may affect construction activities.Monitor site entrances, exits, haul roads, pedestrian routes, and delivery areas.Implement site traffic management procedures in coordination with the HSE team.Ensure safe segregation of vehicles, mobile equipment, and pedestrians.Monitor attendance, work performance, and discipline of the logistics team.Provide on-the-job guidance and ensure safe working practices are maintained.Support the site team in resolving material movement, access, storage, and delivery issues.Coordinate logistics activities to minimise disruption to ongoing construction works.Ensure all logistics activities comply with project HSE requirements and method statements.Conduct or participate in toolbox talks and daily briefings.Ensure appropriate PPE is used by logistics personnel.Monitor safe loading, unloading, lifting, stacking, and material handling practices.Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, or damage.
