Requirements
Bachelor of Laws is a must, with Egyptian Bar registration preferred. Requires 5-8 years of experience in corporate law, with specific experience in commercial, maritime, transport, or logistics law. Must have experience in handling claims, litigation coordination, and contract negotiation. Familiarity with Egyptian Commercial and Civil Law, Maritime and Transport regulations, Insurance law, and Litigation procedures is essential. Understanding of operational risk in logistics and port environments is also required. Excellent English language skills and strong contract drafting skills in Arabic and English are necessary.

The role is responsible for contract drafting and negotiation, claims and litigation management, regulatory compliance and proactive legal risk mitigation to protect the company's commercial and operational interests across port, logistics, and related activities.Responsibilities, Duties, and TasksContract Drafting & Negotiation:Handle logistics services agreements (3PL, warehousing, transport), Vendor and procurement contractsLease and land use agreements, NDAs and confidentiality arrangements, Amendments and contract renewalsMaintain contract register and monitor expiry/renewal timelines.Participate in commercial negotiations to safeguard legal and financial exposure.Claims & Dispute Management:Manage cargo, container, demurrage, and operational claims end-to-end.Review claim documentation and determine liability position.Coordinate with insurers, brokers, and loss adjusters.Prepare legal opinions and settlement recommendations.Track claims aging and support Finance in provisioning assessments.Litigation & Case Coordination:Liaise with external counsel on court cases and arbitration matters.Prepare case briefs, documentation, and evidence files.Attend hearings where required.Monitor procedural timelines and ensure compliance.Recommend litigation or settlement strategy within approved authority.Regulatory & ComplianceMonitor relevant Egyptian laws and regulatory developments affecting port and logistics operations (Commercial Law, Maritime Law, Customs, Insurance, SC Zone framework).Support corporate governance requirements, including Board resolutions, Shareholder documentation, Regulatory filings and authentications.Ensure statutory compliance and proper documentation retention.Conduct legal risk assessments for new projects and commercial initiatives.Support strategic initiatives and expansion projects from a legal risk perspective.Meet all administrative requests from the Head of Legal.Assist in drafting correspondences in good Arabic & English languages.Translate various documents (Arabic>Qualification and Certificates:Bachelor of Laws (MUST)Egyptian Bar registration preferredExperience and Knowledge:5-8 years experience in corporate lawExperience in commercial, maritime, transport, or logistics law.Experience in handling claims, litigation coordination, and contract negotiation.Law firm or in-house logistics experience preferred.Egyptian Commercial and Civil LawMaritime and Transport regulationsInsurance lawLitigation proceduresUnderstanding of operational risk in logistics and port environments.Skills and Abilities:Excellent English language skillsStrong contract drafting skills in Arabic and English.Legal analysis and risk assessmentNegotiation capabilityCase managementStakeholder communicationJudgment and structured decision-making
