Position OverviewA private family in Riyadh is seeking an experienced and highly capable Computer Science Teacher to provide part-time, one-to-one academic support to a student.The successful candidate will deliver personalised and engaging Computer Science tuition aligned with the student’s academic curriculum, with a strong focus on developing technical understanding, computational thinking, programming skills, and independent problem-solving.This is a discreet private appointment requiring an educator who combines strong technical expertise with excellent teaching ability, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively within a private family environment.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Planning and delivering high-quality one-to-one Computer Science lessons.Supporting the student’s school curriculum and academic requirements.Teaching programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data representation, computer systems, networks, and other relevant topics.Supporting homework, coursework, projects, and examination preparation.Developing the student’s programming and practical problem-solving skills.Identifying gaps in knowledge and creating targeted learning plans.Preparing appropriate exercises, projects, revision activities, and extension work.Monitoring academic progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.Developing the student’s confidence, curiosity, and independent learning skills.Maintaining accurate records of progress, attainment, and future objectives.Communicating professionally with the family regarding academic progress and priorities.Coordinating with the student’s school or other educators where required.Maintaining a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be an experienced Computer Science educator with strong technical knowledge and the ability to make complex concepts clear, practical, and engaging.Applicants should demonstrate:Strong knowledge of Computer Science and programming.Experience teaching school-age students in Computer Science.Familiarity with the British curriculum, where applicable.Confidence teaching relevant programming languages, such as Python, Java, or other curriculum-specific languages.The ability to combine theoretical concepts with practical application.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.The ability to tailor lessons to an individual student’s learning style and academic level.Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.Patience and the ability to build a productive one-to-one relationship with the student.Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgement.The confidence to work independently within a private household.Qualifications and ExperienceApplicants should ideally hold:A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Education, or a related discipline.A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent credential.Several years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experience.Experience teaching the British curriculum.GCSE/IGCSE and/or A-Level Computer Science experience, where relevant to the student’s academic level.Strong practical programming experience.Positive and verifiable professional references.Previous experience providing long-term one-to-one tuition or working with high-profile, VVIP, royal, diplomatic, or international families would be advantageous but is not essential.Working ArrangementsThis is a part-time private teaching position based in Riyadh.Teaching will primarily take place around the student’s school commitments.
