Our leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced consultant pathologist
to provide accurate and timely diagnostic pathology services and support clinical decision-making. The role involves the interpretation of tissue, cytology, and other pathological specimens, collaboration with treating physicians, and maintaining high standards of diagnostic quality and patient safety.
Key responsibilities
Examine and interpret biopsy, surgical pathology, histopathology, and cytology specimens.
Provide accurate, comprehensive, and timely pathology reports.
Review and interpret immunohistochemistry and other ancillary investigations where applicable.
Correlate pathological findings with clinical history, imaging, and laboratory results.
Provide expert consultation to physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding pathology findings and appropriate diagnostic investigations.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and tumor boards where required.
Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, physicians, and other specialists to support patient diagnosis and management.
Oversee the quality and accuracy of pathology investigations and reporting processes.
Ensure appropriate specimen handling, processing, documentation, and reporting.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pathology reports.
Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, infection-control procedures, patient-safety requirements, and applicable UAE regulations.
Participate in quality assurance, clinical audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide guidance, supervision, and training to junior doctors, laboratory staff, and other relevant team members.
Keep up to date with advances in diagnostic pathology, laboratory medicine, and emerging diagnostic technologies.
Requirements
MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology / Anatomical Pathology / Clinical Pathology or an equivalent specialty qualification.
Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
Relevant post-specialization experience in diagnostic pathology.
Strong expertise in histopathology and cytopathology.
Experience in immunohistochemistry and ancillary diagnostic techniques is an advantage.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and clinical correlation skills.
