Overview of the role
The technician role requires maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the technical aspects of Toyota material handling equipment. The primary objective is to diagnose and repair equipment effectively and efficiently, ensuring problems are resolved on the first attempt. Success in this role is measured by minimal repeat complaints, productivity reports, and effective communication with supervisors.
What you will do
Mechanical and electrical repairs
Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, troubleshooting, and diagnosing of Toyota material handling equipment with strong skills in diagnosing electric, BT, and VNA issues.
Read, understand, and implement instructions in workshop manuals, utilizing service checklists where applicable to ensure minimal repeat complaints.
Problem diagnosis and solution recommendation
Diagnose faults and recommend effective solutions, ensuring the issue is resolved correctly the first time to minimize repeat complaints.
Adopt best practices from service manuals to improve productivity and efficiency, reflected in productivity and efficiency reports.
Communication and reporting
Maintain effective communication by ensuring all work done is explained to the foreman or service supervisor.
Proactively identify potential problems while attending jobs, both in the workshop and in the field.
Required skills to be successful
Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical repairs.
Proficiency in reading and implementing workshop manual instructions.
Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Ability to maintain productivity and efficiency through best practices.
What qualifies you for the role
Basic or technical education or apprenticeship with a trade certificate or diploma in mechanical or automobile engineering.
Proven technical expertise in independently servicing, repairing, and overhauling components.
At least 5 years of experience with material handling equipment, preferably with Toyota or BT.
UAE driving license (manual) is mandatory.
