Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled consultant anesthesia and pain management to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Al Dhafra Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive anesthesia services and advanced pain management for surgical, medical, and chronic pain patients while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.
Key responsibilities
Provide anesthesia services for elective, emergency, and complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments and formulate individualized anesthesia plans.
Administer general, regional, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and sedation techniques.
Monitor patients throughout the perioperative period and manage post-anesthesia recovery.
Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain using evidence-based medical and interventional pain management techniques.
Perform pain management procedures, including nerve blocks, epidural and facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound- or fluoroscopy-guided interventions, where credentialed.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists, oncologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
Participate in acute pain service (APS), perioperative medicine, and on-call anesthesia coverage as required.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety protocols, infection control standards, and international anesthesia guidelines.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education activities.
Mentor junior physicians, residents, and allied healthcare professionals.
Requirements

Completion of an accredited residency in anesthesiology.
Fellowship or subspecialty training in pain management, chronic pain medicine, or regional anesthesia from a recognized institution.
Board certification or equivalent recognized qualification in anesthesiology.
DOH license or eligibility is preferred.
