Requirements
Candidates must have proven experience as a Commercial Director or Senior Commercial Manager, with a strong background in contracting companies and extensive experience in water, wastewater, pumping station, and utility network infrastructure projects. A degree in a related discipline is required, and strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, contract administration, claims, variations, and dispute resolution is essential. Previous UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred, and candidates must currently be based in the UAE with immediate or short-notice availability.

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Commercial Director – Water, Wastewater & Pumping Station Projects to lead the commercial function for major infrastructure and utility projects in the UAE.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with contracting companies, particularly on water and wastewater infrastructure, pumping stations, utility networks, and other major infrastructure projects.Candidates should have previously held a senior position such as Commercial Director, Senior Commercial Manager, or an equivalent senior commercial leadership role.Candidates must be currently based in the UAE, with immediate or short-notice availability preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic commercial leadership for water, wastewater, pumping station and infrastructure projects.Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-award through completion.Lead contract administration, commercial negotiations, claims, variations, extensions of time and final accounts.Manage commercial risks and protect the company's contractual and financial interests.Monitor project costs, revenue, profitability, cash flow and overall commercial performance.Review, negotiate and administer main contracts, subcontracts and commercial agreements.Lead the preparation, submission and negotiation of claims and variations.Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, finance and legal teams.Provide commercial advice and strategic recommendations to senior management.Lead, manage and develop the commercial and contracts team.Ensure effective commercial controls and procedures are implemented across projects.Support tendering, pre-contract and business development activities where required.Manage client and consultant relationships on commercial and contractual matters.Candidate RequirementsProven experience as a Commercial Director, Senior Commercial Manager, or equivalent senior commercial position.Strong background with contracting companies.Extensive experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.Proven experience with pumping station projects, utility networks and related infrastructure works.Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, contract administration, claims, variations, EOTs and dispute resolution.Experience managing large-scale and complex infrastructure projects.Strong commercial, contractual, negotiation and leadership skills.Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification would be an advantage.Previous UAE / GCC experience is highly preferred.Western candidates only, as per client requirement.Must be currently based in the UAE.Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.
