Requirements
Requires at least five years of experience in RO plant operations, water treatment, or process engineering. Must have hands-on experience in plant start-up, shutdown, and abnormal protocols, as well as expertise in membrane autopsy, rejection rate analysis, flux decline troubleshooting, membrane cleaning, performance tracking, and lifespan optimization. An in-depth understanding of membrane filtration principles, scaling, fouling, and biofouling prevention is essential, along with experience in Plant Accounting Settlement System (PASS) and calculating/optimizing Specific Energy Consumption (SEC). Commissioning and start-up experience is considered an advantage.

JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of the RO Process Engineer is To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the SWRO plant related to process and chemicals in order to achieve commercial targets within the strict environmental and contractual limits To establish and monitor the station's water treatment, water chemistry, RO plant performance and environmental performance, including the development and continuous improvement of operating and maintenance procedures and practices, setting standards and reviewing real time performance indicators against the Environmental Approvals and other agreed guidelines and parameters To work along with the Operations and Maintenance Teams, ensures a lifecycle management approach is taken with regard to Operations and Maintenance Practices on Water Treatment and RO Plants. To ensure compliance of flow & quality, Optimize the process in terms of reliability and costs of chemicals/ power consumptionDuring O&M Period / post COD of plant This key role is responsible for making accurate, timely decisions affecting plant processes and performance, with collaboration from the O&M Manager when required. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of Engie safety regulations and adherence to commercial agreements, including the PWPA and O&M agreements, as well as practical experience in the technologies involved in operating a modern Reverse Osmosis Desalination plant and a diverse range of auxiliary equipment. The role demands a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in plant equipment operations and the development and adherence of operational procedures & protocols. To support and substitute Shift Charge Engineer temporarily if needed.These responsibilities represent the minimum expectations for the role additional duties may be assigned as needed.
