Technical Office EngineerDepartment: Projects & EngineeringReports To: Projects Manager / Engineering ManagerLocation: Alexandria, EgyptPosition SummaryThe Technical Office Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and preparing the technical documentation required for heavy lifting, heavy transportation, project logistics, and specialized cargo handling operations. The role supports the execution team by developing engineering studies, lifting and transportation plans, method statements, risk assessments, drawings, calculations, and project schedules while ensuring compliance with international engineering standards, HSE requirements, and client specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Technical PlanningPrepare lifting plans for cranes, gantries, jacking systems, skidding systems, SPMTs, hydraulic trailers, and other specialized equipment.Develop transportation studies including route surveys, bridge assessments, axle load distribution, turning radius analysis, and swept path analysis.Design and review rigging arrangements for heavy lift operations.Perform engineering calculations for lifting, transportation, load distribution, ground bearing pressure, stability, and equipment utilization.Prepare technical proposals and engineering solutions for complex logistics and heavy transport projects.Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and technical layouts for lifting, transportation, storage, and installation activities.Project DocumentationPrepare Method Statements (MOS), Risk Assessments (RA), Lift Plans, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and other project documentation.Review client specifications, tender documents, and engineering requirements.Coordinate technical submissions with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders.Maintain engineering documentation and project records.Tender & Commercial SupportSupport the commercial team during tender preparation by providing technical studies, execution methodologies, equipment selection, and cost optimization.Review project scope and identify technical risks and engineering challenges.Assist in preparing technical clarifications and client presentations.Project Execution SupportCoordinate with Project Managers, Operations, HSE, Procurement, and Equipment Departments to ensure successful project execution.Attend site visits and perform technical inspections before project commencement.Provide technical support during critical lifting and transportation operations.Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution.Quality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure engineering designs comply with applicable international standards including ASME, BS, EN, LOLER, and client-specific requirements.Ensure all lifting and transportation plans meet HSE standards and EWA Group procedures.Participate in project risk assessments and engineering reviews.Promote continuous improvement in engineering practices and operational efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.0-2 years of experience in technical office engineering, heavy lifting, heavy transportation, project logistics, or construction engineering.Experience in preparing lifting studies and transportation engineering is highly preferred.Professional engineering certifications are considered an advantage.Technical SkillsAutoCADMicrosoft Office SuiteMicrosoft Project or Primavera P6AutoTURN or equivalent route analysis softwareCrane selection and lifting calculation softwareStrong understanding of engineering calculations and structural analysisAbility to interpret technical drawings and engineering specificationsCore CompetenciesTechnical problem-solvingProject planning and coordinationAnalytical and numerical skillsAttention to detailEffective communicationTime managementTeam collaborationClient-oriented mindsetPreferred Industry ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following sectors is preferred:Heavy Lift & Heavy TransportProject LogisticsReal Estate sitesShipping & Port OperationsRenewable Energy ProjectsOil & GasPower Plants & SubstationsMobility Projects (Metro, Monorail, LRT)Industrial PlantsInfrastructure & ConstructionAbout EWA GroupEWA Group is a leading Egyptian integrated logistics, heavy transport, heavy lifting, shipping agency, and project logistics company.
