Essential RequirementsPrevious experience in a Duty Manager, Operations Supervisor, or similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.Strong operational background with experience overseeing Housekeeping and daily hotel operations.Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop teams to achieve high performance.Experience managing staffing levels, rota planning, and resource allocation.Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, operational compliance, and company standards.Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems.Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Desirable RequirementsExperience working in a branded hotel environment.Housekeeping management experience.Knowledge of labour cost control and departmental budgeting.IOSH, First Aid, or other relevant health and safety qualifications.Experience using hotel management and workforce scheduling systems.

The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of the hotel, ensuring all departments operate efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards. This role is focused on back-of-house operations, team leadership, and operational excellence rather than direct guest interaction.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of the day-to-day operational performance of the hotel, ensuring all departments run efficiently and in line with company standards.Work closely with the Housekeeping team to ensure rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards and operational priorities are met.Lead, coach, and support departmental teams, creating a high-performing, accountable, and engaged working environment.Plan and optimize staffing levels, resource allocation, and rota management to meet business demands and operational requirements.Monitor compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and brand standards across all operational departments.Coordinate daily operations between Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other support functions to ensure seamless service delivery.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost control while maintaining quality standards.Manage employee performance through regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.Oversee operational issues, resolve internal challenges, and make effective decisions to ensure the smooth running of the business.Produce operational reports, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
