Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, or Education from a recognised university. Candidates with postgraduate qualifications and relevant teaching certifications will be preferred.
•Proven, hands-on experience teaching or tutoring Chemistry and Biology for the IB Diploma Programme.
•Strong experience with both Standard Level and Higher-Level content is preferred.
•Proven experience teaching Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel AS/A Level Chemistry and Biology.
•Solid experience preparing students for AP Calculus AB and/or BC.
•Familiarity with IGCSE and GCSE Chemistry and Biology across Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA, or OCR.
•Understanding of American curriculum Chemistry and Biology is an advantage.
•Demonstrable track record of improving student grades, examination results, and academic confidence.
•Previous professional tutoring, coaching, or classroom teaching experience is required.
Description
•Deliver personalised one-on-one and small-group tutoring in Chemistry and Biology.•Teach students preparing for IBDP, AS/A Levels, IGCSE, GCSE, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Biology and other international qualifications.•Provide expert support for Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel Chemistry and Biology specifications.•Design structured lesson plans, revision programmes, and examination strategies based on each student’s needs.•Explain complex scientific concepts through engaging, inquiry-based, and student-centred teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and conceptual understanding.•Administer timed mock examinations, topic tests, and past papers under examination conditions.•Mark student work accurately and provide detailed feedback, corrections, and targeted follow-up lessons.•Identify conceptual gaps, scientific misconceptions, practical application challenges, and examination-technique weaknesses.•Track and report student progress, adjusting teaching strategies where required.•Prepare high-quality worksheets, worked examples, revision notes, and board-specific question sets.•Support students in scientific inquiry, experimental investigations, data analysis, critical thinking, and the development of high-quality responses to structured and extended-response assessment tasks.•Communicate proactively with students and parents or guardians regarding progress, targets, attendance, and upcoming assessments.•Maintain accurate records of lessons, homework, assessments, and student performance.•Stay current with syllabus changes, mark schemes, command terms, examiner reports, grade boundaries, and assessment requirements.•Work collaboratively with the academic and counselling teams to support students’ overall academic goals.
