Description
The Planning Manager is responsible for leading and managing project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and progress control activities to ensure successful delivery of fit-out projects within approved timelines and project objectives. The role includes developing baseline programs, tracking project progress, coordinating with engineering, procurement, production, and site teams, and identifying potential delays and recovery actions. The Planning Manager ensures effective resource planning, progress reporting, and schedule management while supporting project execution, management decision-making, and client reporting requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining project performance, productivity, and timely completion of interior fit-out and construction activities.Develop, review, and maintain baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.Prepare detailed project programs covering design, procurement, production, delivery, installation, testing, and handover activities.Monitor project progress and update schedules based on actual site progress and project status.Analyze critical path activities, project risks, delays, and recommend corrective or recovery actions.Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Production, and QA/QC teams to ensure alignment with project schedules.Prepare look-ahead schedules, recovery plans, and resource-loaded programs for project execution.Track procurement status, material deliveries, shop drawings, and approvals to support project timelines.Monitor manpower allocation, productivity, and resource utilization across projects.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and project performance analysis.Conduct progress review meetings and coordinate interdepartmental planning activities.Support management in forecasting project completion dates and identifying schedule risks.Ensure all project schedules comply with contractual requirements and project milestones.Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding project planning and progress matters.Monitor variations, scope changes, and their impact on project schedules.Support tender planning, manpower histograms, cash flow projections, and project execution strategies.Maintain planning records, logs, and schedule documentation for reporting and audit purposes.Provide planning support during project inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover stages.Lead and supervise Planning Engineers and planning support staff.Authority to recommend recovery actions, revised schedules, and resource adjustments to maintain project targets.Authority to escalate schedule delays, coordination issues, and project risks to senior management.
