We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled consultant/specialist nephrologist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in nephrology, renal medicine, kidney disease management, dialysis care, and complex renal disorders, with a commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
The successful candidate will work closely with urologists, transplant surgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, dietitians, dialysis nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nephrology consultations and detailed renal assessments.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic kidney diseases.
Develop individualized treatment and long-term management plans based on clinical findings and investigations.
Assess and manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte abnormalities, and acid-base disorders.
Manage patients with diabetic kidney disease, hypertensive nephropathy, and other causes of renal impairment.
Diagnose and manage glomerular, tubular, interstitial, and systemic kidney diseases.
Assess patients with proteinuria, hematuria, edema, and abnormal renal function.
Manage patients requiring hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and other renal replacement therapies.
Monitor dialysis patients and coordinate appropriate dialysis prescriptions and treatment adjustments.
Evaluate patients for dialysis initiation and determine appropriate renal replacement strategies.
Provide medical management of complications associated with advanced chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease.
Assess and manage fluid balance, hypertension, electrolyte abnormalities, and acid-base disturbances.
Review and interpret renal function tests, urine studies, laboratory investigations, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other relevant diagnostic studies.
Perform or coordinate appropriate renal procedures, including renal biopsy, where appropriately trained and clinically indicated.
Provide pre-operative and medical renal assessment for patients undergoing complex procedures or surgery.
Manage patients with renal complications in intensive care and coordinate care for critically ill patients with acute kidney injury.
Evaluate patients for kidney transplantation and coordinate appropriate pre- and post-transplant medical care where applicable.
Provide counseling regarding kidney disease progression, medication use, diet, fluid management, dialysis, and lifestyle modifications.
Coordinate care with dietitians, dialysis teams, transplant services, and other specialists.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential medical records.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
