Job purpose
Plan, supervise and coordinate all major rotating equipment maintenance activities to ensure availability and reliability by utilizing highly skilled company staff, external resources, vendors and OEM to ensure major rotating equipment in the plant are operated and maintained safely with minimum downtime and optimum cost as per company maintenance objectives.
Key accountabilities
Provide decision support for the production and maintenance teams for equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine equipment surveillance, start-up activities, and training on all rotating equipment.
Develop long range plans for machinery overhaul through performance evaluations on the equipment and based on running hours to maintain high reliability and availability of the plant.
Work with the production teams to ensure the integrity, reliability, and sustainability of all the mechanical assets associated with rotating equipment.
Provide assistance to senior rotating engineer as required in the areas of schedule, estimate of budget and all other relevant jobs to the section.
Review required spare parts and their availability with all resources required to execute the job to complete activities as per plan and reduce equipment downtime.
Lead or support root cause analysis investigations, solution development, and risk assessments to minimize number of trips and improve plant reliability.
Prepare scope of work and follow up for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or service provider for the refurbishment or repair works of the repairable major non-insurance parts including budgeting, issuing SWOs, tracking and receiving.
Supervise the major overhauls and ensure completion as per plan.
Provide technical support to area maintenance and operation, carry out troubleshooting and resolve chronic problems by identifying solutions that require more in-depth investigation.
Ensure that major rotating equipment and major parts history records are kept available and updated to utilize such records to plan proper replacement of aged parts via maintaining tracking database.
Coordinate with TE Division/TER to request technical services (RTS) related to major equipment, agree on scope of work, review and implement RTS recommendations.
Follow up permanent or temporary plant change management system (PCRs) related to major equipment starting from initiation, pre-feed, feed, execution, and up to post-close stage.
Coordinate with PX team to review the rotating equipment documents of the new projects, retrofit, modifications, service bulletins and plant expansions starting from pre-feed till project completion.
Maintain regular contact with local and international vendors and third party service providers to obtain services.
Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills
Bachelor degree in engineering or business administration.
Six years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Strong understanding of performance analysis and standards in oil and gas production.
Good understanding of business planning, performance measurement and economic analysis.
Good understanding of relevant business processes, systems and tools.
Proficiency in building production performance analysis reports to identify prospects of improvement for strategic business planning.
Awareness of business risk and controls for plant production within oil and gas sector.
Planning and organising, scheduling and coordinating, checking, examining and recording.
