Job purpose The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of FEED, Pre-FEED, engineering and EPCM-related scopes for energy and oil & gas projects, with a particular focus on Middle East opportunities. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi and will support both project execution and proposal development, working closely with the Proposal Lead, Engineering Manager, Project Controls, Commercial, Contracts & Procurement, HSSE, Quality and discipline engineering teams. The role requires a delivery-focused project professional who can manage multidisciplinary teams, establish clear execution plans, maintain strong client relationships, control scope, schedule and budget, and support the development of competitive, well-structured proposals. Key responsibilities Lead assigned FEED, Pre-FEED, engineering, study or EPCM scopes from initiation through close-out, ensuring delivery in accordance with agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and HSE requirements. Act as the primary project focal point for the client, internal stakeholders and project leadership, ensuring clear communication, timely decision-making and effective issue resolution. Develop and maintain project execution plans, project schedules, resource plans, risk registers, action trackers, reporting routines and project governance processes. Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure technical delivery is aligned with project objectives, deliverables, design assurance requirements and client expectations. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, project controls, document control, procurement, estimating, quality, HSSE and commercial inputs to ensure integrated project delivery. Monitor project progress, productivity, cost performance, forecast hours, schedule performance, risks, changes and key actions; intervene early where corrective action is required. Manage project scope and change, ensuring variations, deviations, technical queries and client instructions are identified, assessed, documented and progressed in accordance with contract requirements. Chair or support project meetings, client reviews, internal project reviews, risk workshops, design reviews, readiness reviews and close-out sessions. Ensure robust document management, deliverables control, project reporting and interface management across all project participants and execution locations. Promote KBR’s Zero Harm culture and ensure HSSE expectations are embedded in project planning, decision-making and delivery. Capture and implement lessons learned, drive continuous improvement and support standardisation of project delivery processes across the Abu Dhabi Operating Centre. Support proposal development, including review of ITT/RFP documents, development of execution strategies, preparation of project management narratives, project organisation, schedules, CTRs, assumptions, exclusions, qualifications, risk inputs and technical/commercial clarifications. Work with the Proposal Lead to coordinate cross-functional proposal inputs and ensure bid deliverables are complete, coherent, competitive and aligned with KBR’s delivery capability. Support client presentations, proposal reviews, red team reviews, technical clarification meetings and transition from proposal to project execution following award. Experience 15+ years of relevant experience in engineering, project management or project delivery within the oil and gas, energy, petrochemical or major infrastructure sectors. Demonstrated experience managing FEED, Pre-FEED, study, detailed engineering, PMC or EPCM scopes for major energy or oil and gas projects. Previous experience with an EPC, EPCM, engineering consultancy or project management consultancy organisation is strongly preferred. Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, project controls, estimating, procurement, HSSE, quality and information management. Strong understanding of FEED delivery, basis of design development, project execution planning, deliverables management, design reviews, cost estimating and schedule development. Experience supporting proposals, tenders, bid execution, CTR development, technical/commercial submissions and proposal-to-project handover. Middle East project experience is strongly preferred; UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman or wider GCC experience would be advantageous. Experience with major regional operators, including ADNOC, KOC, KNPC, BOC, TotalEnergies, TAQA or similar clients, would be advantageous. Proven ability to manage client relationships, resolve issues, drive decisions and maintain project momentum in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Demonstrated commercial awareness, including scope control, change management, forecasting, invoicing support, risk management and protection of project margin. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited university. Professional project management certification such as PMP, APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent is desirable. Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent professional registration is advantageous. Additional qualifications in project management, business administration, commercial management, risk management or HSSE are advantageous. Technical skills Strong understanding of FEED and engineering project delivery processes. Ability to develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, CTRs, resource plans, risk registers and reporting frameworks. Working knowledge of project controls, earned value, progress measurement, cost forecasting and schedule management. Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including change control, scope management and client communication. Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces across multiple offices and stakeholders. Strong proposal development capability, including execution strategy, bid narratives, assumptions, exclusions, qualifications and review preparation. Familiarity with project delivery tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, SharePoint, Aconex, Documentum or similar platforms is advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare client-facing reports, presentations and executive-level updates. Proactive leadership style with the ability to create clarity, drive accountability and maintain momentum under schedule pressure.
