Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within the UAE construction, infrastructure, utilities, or EPC industry.

  • Proven experience working on Pumping Stations, Water Transmission Networks, Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), District Cooling Plants (DCP), Substations, or similar infrastructure projects.

  • Experience working on projects for TAQA, TRANSCO, or similar utility authorities is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, client safety standards, and international best practices.


Mandatory Certifications

  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – Mandatory.

Preferred Certifications

  • TAQA HSE Approval – Preferred.

  • TRANSCO HSE Approval – Preferred.

  • IOSH Managing Safely / IOSH Working Safely – Advantage.

  • ISO 45001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor – Advantage.

  • First Aid, Fire Warden, and Confined Space certifications will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Company policies, client requirements, and UAE regulations, while supporting the safe execution of works on site. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Pumping Stations, Water Transmission Networks, Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), District Cooling Plants (DCP), Substations, or similar infrastructure and utilities projects.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and monitor the Company's HSE policies, procedures, and management systems on project sites.Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance with Company, client, and statutory HSE requirements.Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend appropriate control measures.Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and safe work practices.Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, HSE awareness campaigns, and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors.Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions.Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety rules.Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills, and evacuation exercises.Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and statutory documentation.Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders on HSE-related matters.Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, waste management procedures, and sustainability initiatives.Support project management in achieving HSE objectives and maintaining a zero-harm workplace.
