Role overview
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment supported by experienced consultants, nurses, allied health professionals and modern diagnostic, surgical and critical care infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose and manage patients with a broad range of cardiac and thoracic surgical conditions.
Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures according to clinical privileges, subspecialty expertise and facility scope.
Evaluate surgical candidates, develop appropriate treatment plans and obtain informed consent.
Provide comprehensive pre-operative, perioperative and post-operative patient management.
Manage surgical complications and provide appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
Collaborate with cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, pulmonologists and other multidisciplinary teams.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, surgical audits, quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control and international healthcare standards.
