Safa Community School is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic inclusion teaching assistant with a focus on English and science, to support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The successful candidate would be expected to work across the age and ability range, from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and A-Level. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly supportive and forward-thinking inclusion team, supporting students to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. General professional responsibilities The professional duties of an inclusion teaching assistant shall be deemed to include the following duties: Provide targeted in-class and small group support in science and mathematics Support students with a range of additional learning needs Work closely with subject teachers and the inclusion team to adapt and scaffold learning Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) Promote student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning Support with assessment preparation and coursework where required Maintain good order and discipline among the students he or she is teaching Participate in departmental meetings Work as a member of a team in the shaping of departmental policy and practice Participate in administrative and organisational tasks in order to ensure the smooth running of the department Keep up to date with curriculum innovation, participate in arrangements for CPD, contribute to his or her own professional development Work collaboratively with support teachers in the classroom Carry out other tasks as reasonably directed by the head of department Be supportive of UAE initiatives and cultural expectations Candidate profile It is a requirement that the successful candidate: Will hold relevant qualifications British curriculum school experience favourable Experience working with students in a secondary school setting (KS3–KS5) A strong understanding of science and/or mathematics at secondary level Experience supporting students with additional learning needs (e.g. SEN, EAL) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach A genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing What we offer A supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunities for professional development A strong focus on staff wellbeing The opportunity to be part of a thriving school community Note This job description will be reviewed regularly and may be subject to modification and amendment.
