We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant cardiothoracic surgeon to join a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical care for patients with cardiac and thoracic conditions, performing complex procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Key responsibilities
Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical management of adult and/or pediatric cardiothoracic conditions.
Perform advanced cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including:
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
Valve repair and replacement surgeries
Aortic surgery
Thoracic surgical procedures
Minimally invasive cardiothoracic procedures (where applicable)
Management of complex cardiac and thoracic conditions.
Conduct pre-operative assessments, develop surgical plans, and provide post-operative care.
Manage surgical complications and provide appropriate follow-up care.
Collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists, and multidisciplinary cardiac teams.
Participate in cardiac MDT meetings and contribute to complex case discussions.
Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection prevention, surgical safety standards, and hospital protocols.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and operative records.
Participate in clinical audits, research activities, quality improvement programs, and continuing medical education (CME).
Mentor and train junior surgeons and surgical teams where applicable.

MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in cardiothoracic surgery (fellowship/board certification or equivalent).
Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience at consultant level.
Eligibility for or possession of a Department of Health (DOH) – Abu Dhabi consultant license.
Extensive experience in complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
Strong expertise in perioperative management and critical care of cardiothoracic patients.
Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.
Preferred candidate profile
Experience working in internationally accredited cardiac centers or tertiary hospitals.
Expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, advanced valve surgery, or aortic procedures is an advantage.
UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong track record of clinical excellence and surgical outcomes.
