✨ AI Summary
The Specialist Gas Planning role at ADNOC Gas is responsible for developing and maintaining long-term plans for gas, NGL, and associated product capacity, production, and infrastructure. This involves integrating upstream feed profiles, asset capabilities, project schedules, and demand requirements into a consistent production plan to support business goals and ensure reliable supply commitments across the gas value chain. Key responsibilities include consolidating upstream data, translating asset capacities into forecasts, identifying infrastructure constraints, performing supply and demand balancing, quantifying curtailment exposure, and maintaining planning models with data integrity. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering with around 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in production planning or similar roles within the oil and gas industry. A strong technical foundation in gas processing and LNG operations, combined with advanced analytical and modeling capabilities (especially in Excel), and proven cross-discipline reconciliation skills are essential. The role requires the ability to influence without direct ownership of resources and to establish planning discipline in a new department, ensuring a single, trusted long-term production plan is utilized by all stakeholders.

Integrate upstream feed profiles, asset capabilities, project schedules and demand requirements into a single consistent long-term production plan that supports the business plan and enables reliable supply commitments across the gas value chain. Key accountabilities Consolidate and validate upstream feed gas profiles, associated gas volumes and new stream tie-ins from ADNOC Upstream and group entities. Translate asset capacities, operating envelopes, turnaround and shutdown schedules and reliability assumptions into realistic forecasts. Develop long-term capacity and infrastructure plans, identifying where and when constraints will emerge. Perform long-term supply and demand balancing and support optimisation of molecule allocation across assets, products and customers. Quantify curtailment and production loss exposure and support mitigation options. Develop production and capacity scenarios and conduct sensitivity analysis on key planning assumptions. Maintain planning models, datasets and tools with full data integrity, version control and documented assumptions. Develop upstream profiles, project schedules and demand cases; move continuously so the plan must stay current without becoming unstable. Reconcile conflicting inputs from operations, projects, engineering, marketing and upstream into one agreed number. Work at portfolio level while the deep technical bench sits in engineering – influence without ownership of that resource. Balance planning realism against commercial ambition when commitments are being made off the plan. Establish planning discipline in a newly formed department. Be a single, trusted long-term production plan used by finance, marketing and operations without parallel versions. Improve forecast accuracy, evidenced through lookback and variance analysis. Develop clean, respected interfaces with upstream, engineering, operations and projects. Analyse the constraints and curtailment exposure surfaced early enough to act on. Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with around 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 in production planning, long-term planning, integrated planning or gas value chain planning in oil and gas, LNG or petrochemicals. Engineering foundation with a planning and commercial lens is the ideal shape. Long-term production and capacity planning – demonstrated ownership of multi-year production, capacity or supply–demand balance models feeding a business plan. Gas / NGL / LNG technical foundation – sound understanding of gas processing, NGL extraction and fractionation and LNG operations, including capacity constraints and operating envelopes. Analytical and modelling capability – advanced Excel essential, with structured model building, data integrity discipline and version control. Cross-discipline reconciliation – proven ability to work across technical, commercial and financial teams and reconcile conflicting inputs into one agreed plan. Planning rigour and communication – documented assumptions, clear scenario and sensitivity presentation, and excellent written and spoken English.
