Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Typically 7–10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, or project execution, preferably within power, substations, transmission, distribution, or EPC projects.
Strong experience in electrical systems for HV/EHV substations and power infrastructure.
Good knowledge of transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs/CVTs, isolators, busbars, protection and control systems, and auxiliary systems.
Experience in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, energization, and project handover.
Strong ability to read and interpret SLDs, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of electrical protection, control, metering, SCADA, communication, and automation systems is preferred.
Good understanding of earthing, lightning protection, cable systems, station services, and electrical safety.
Knowledge of IEC standards, UAE regulations, utility requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspection requirements, and technical documentation.
Experience with project planning, scheduling, resource management, and construction coordination.
Proficiency in MS Office and relevant electrical engineering/project management software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities within project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Experience in HV/EHV substations, transmission and distribution networks, utility projects, or major EPC projects.
Hands-on experience with GIS/AIS substations, transformers, protection and control systems, SCADA, and substation automation.
Experience with electrical testing and commissioning, protection relay testing, functional testing, and energization.
UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
Familiarity with DEWA, TAQA/TRANSCO, or other UAE utility/client requirements will be an advantage.
Experience working with major EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and utility clients.
Professional engineering certification or membership with a recognized engineering body will be an advantage.
