We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager – Construction to lead and manage the end-to-end procurement function for construction projects. The role will be responsible for sourcing materials, equipment and services, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, managing procurement schedules and ensuring the best combination of cost, quality and timely delivery.The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of procurement experience within the construction industry, with strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, subcontractors, contracts and commercial negotiations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements, budgets and timelines.Manage the complete procurement cycle from sourcing and supplier evaluation through negotiation, purchase orders and delivery.Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers, subcontractors and service providers.Source construction materials, equipment, machinery and services at competitive prices while maintaining required quality standards.Review project BOQs, specifications, drawings and material requirements to develop accurate procurement plans.Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, bid comparisons and commercial evaluations.Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate long-term agreements where appropriate.Monitor procurement schedules to ensure materials and equipment are delivered in line with project requirements.Coordinate closely with Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Finance, Stores and Site teams.Track purchase orders, deliveries, outstanding materials and supplier commitments.Monitor market trends, material prices, availability and potential supply-chain risks.Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering and procurement optimisation.Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets and project specifications.Evaluate supplier performance and take corrective action where required.Manage procurement documentation, contracts, purchase orders and supplier records.Resolve supplier disputes, delivery delays, quality issues and commercial discrepancies.Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.Prepare regular procurement reports, cost analyses and management updates.RequirementsMinimum 7 years of procurement experience, preferably within construction, contracting or real estate development.Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting and supplier markets.Proven experience in procurement planning, tendering, supplier negotiations and contract management.Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to achieve cost and value optimisation.Ability to interpret BOQs, specifications, drawings and project requirements.Strong understanding of construction procurement processes and project timelines.Excellent vendor and stakeholder management skills.Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and procurement/ERP systems.Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.
