Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business, coupled with 5-8 years of experience in project logistics, heavy lift, breakbulk, or project cargo operations. Essential skills include project planning and execution, multimodal transportation, technical coordination, commercial management, risk management, customer and stakeholder management, team leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, HSE compliance, and communication.
Description
Responsibilities:Project Management & ExecutionLead full door-to-door project logistics (heavy lift, modules, project cargo) operations from planning through final delivery.Develop and manage detailed project execution plans, transportation schedules, milestones, and risk registers.Coordinate multimodal transportation involving international freight, road, sea, barge, rail, heavy haul and specialized lifting operations.Manage movement of oversized, out-of-gauge (OOG), breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo.Ensure all project deliveries are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.Manage a team of 3-5 project logistics professionals.Technical & Engineering CoordinationReview transportation studies, lifting plans, route surveys and method statements.Coordinate with transport engineers, heavy lift contractors, shipping lines and port operators.Assess technical feasibility for transportation and lifting operations.Evaluate transport routes, bridge capacities, road restrictions and permitting requirements.Commercial ManagementMonitor project budgets, cost controls and profitability.Manage subcontractors, vendors and service providers.Negotiate rates and commercial terms with carriers, transporters and project vendors.Identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities.Qualifications & Characteristics:Education – Bachelors / Master's in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.Work Experience – 5-8 experience in project logistics, heavy lift, breakbulk or project cargo operations.Specific Skills:Project Planning & ExecutionProject Cargo & Heavy Lift LogisticsMultimodal TransportationTechnical & Engineering CoordinationCommercial & Cost ManagementRisk ManagementCustomer & Stakeholder ManagementTeam LeadershipNegotiation & Vendor ManagementProblem Solving & Decision MakingHSE & ComplianceCommunication & CollaborationDSV – Global transport and logisticsWorking at DSV means playing in a different league.As a global leader in transport and logistics, we have been on an extraordinary journey of growth.
