GHD is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington. 

In this role, you will contribute electrical design and technical input to multidisciplinary property, buildings and infrastructure projects, supporting delivery through project planning, design and construction phases. 

The role:

  • Design and deliver building services electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems. 
  • Contribute to communications, ICT, fire systems and associated building infrastructure. 
  • Prepare design documentation, technical reports and specifications in line with GHD and client requirements. 
  • Support project planning, design development, construction-phase activities and site-based services where required. 
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams. 
  • Support the preparation of proposals and bids and respond to project opportunities. 
  • Work across New Zealand and Australian projects, with opportunities to support wider APAC delivery. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. 
  • Minimum 3 years’ electrical engineering experience, with 3 to 5 years preferred. 
  • Building services electrical design experience. 
  • Experience with power, lighting and low-voltage distribution systems. 
  • Experience with ICT systems. 
  • Multidisciplinary project delivery experience. 
  • Experience preparing design documentation, reports and specifications. 
  • Experience using AGI-32 and PowerCAD software packages.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Client engagement and stakeholder management capability. 
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes. 
  • Security system design experience would be advantageous. 
  • Construction-phase support or site-based services experience would be advantageous. 
  • CPEng or actively working towards professional registration is preferred.
