The role
As a flight dispatcher, you will exercise operational control responsibilities and ensure all Etihad flights are planned and conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, company procedures, and the highest safety standards.
You will be responsible for developing operational flight plans, monitoring flights in real time, assessing operational risks, and providing flight crews with critical information to support safe and efficient operations across our global network.
What you'll do
Flight planning & operational control
Prepare and release operational flight plans (OFPs) for Etihad flights.
Calculate fuel requirements, payload limitations, and performance parameters based on aircraft type, route, weather conditions, and operational restrictions.
Prepare and file ATS flight plans in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support flight crew with all operational information required for safe flight execution.
Flight watch & in-flight support
Monitor flights throughout all phases of operation and provide operational support when required.
Communicate significant weather, route, airport, or operational changes to flight crews.
Recommend suitable alternates and re-planning solutions during disruptions.
Support decision-making during irregular operations and contingency situations.
Operational analysis & risk assessment
Analyse weather reports, NOTAMs, airport conditions, airspace restrictions, and operational hazards.
Evaluate airport and route suitability to ensure safe and economical flight operations.
Support flights operating in complex airspace, including NAT HLA operations.
Stakeholder collaboration
Liaise with maintenance control regarding MEL items and their impact on flight performance and operational planning.
Work closely with pilots, operations teams, air traffic services, and other stakeholders across the network.
Contribute to the effective management of day-to-day operational challenges.
Safety & compliance
Maintain full compliance with GCAA regulations, company procedures, and operational policies.
Participate in recurrent training and competency assessments.
Support emergency response activities in accordance with Etihad's emergency response plan and safety management system.

Minimum requirements
High school diploma or equivalent qualification (bachelor's degree preferred).

Technical knowledge

Experience using Lido flight planning.
Experience using AIMS.
Working knowledge of Jeppesen Airways manuals and navigation documentation.
Knowledge of airline operational procedures and computerized flight planning systems.
Demonstrated proficiency in operational decision-making within a commercial airline environment.
