About the RoleWe are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Electrical Technical Office Engineer with specialized expertise in Tendering, Cost Estimation/BOQ, and Shop Drawing Preparation. In this role, you will bridge pre-construction bidding with site execution—handling tender evaluations and unit pricing, while also producing, reviewing, and approving fully coordinated electrical shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and builder's work layouts for seamless on-site implementation.Key Responsibilities1. Shop Drawings & Technical Coordination:Prepare, review, and finalize detailed electrical Shop Drawings (lighting, power, cable tray/containment routes, earthing, lightning protection, and low current systems) using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.Develop Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, panel board schedules, and load distributions.Perform spatial coordination with HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Structural disciplines to produce fully coordinated composite/clash-free drawings and builder's work drawings.Prepare As-Built drawings following project completion and incorporate consultant comments for drawing approvals.2. Tendering, BOQ & Cost Estimation:Evaluate tender packages, project specifications, and contract drawings to prepare precise technical and financial tender submissions.Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs (BOQ) for all electrical systems directly from design models and shop drawings.Perform unit rate analysis, calculate direct/indirect costs, and analyze supplier/subcontractor quotations to optimize competitive pricing.Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising technical compliance or design quality.3. Material Submittals & Subcontractor Support:Prepare and follow up on Material Approval Requests (MARs) and technical compliance sheets in alignment with approved shop drawings and specifications.Address Requests for Information (RFIs) from site teams and provide technical support during installation and testing phases.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power & Machines Engineering from an accredited university.Experience: 4 to 9 years of technical office experience covering tendering, BOQ preparation, and shop drawing production within contracting or MEP environments.Software Proficiency:Expert proficiency in AutoCAD (essential for fast, precise shop drawing drafting).Advanced skills in MS Excel (for quantity surveying, pricing models, and cost sheets).Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP for 3D modeling and BIM coordination.Familiarity with calculation software (DIALux for lighting, Ecodial/ETAP) is a plus.Codes & Standards: Sound understanding of the Egyptian Electricity Code, IEC standards, NFPA, and local utility regulations.Skills: Excellent drafting speed and accuracy, strong cost estimation capabilities, attention to detail, and effective multi-tasking under submission deadlines.
